my old desktop has a 420w psu and i am currently running a x850xt pe agp along with a koolance exos system. i want to upgrade to the 3850 ati card and it requires a minimum 450w psu.

now i know the koolance already takes up alot of of the psu and my current agp x850xt pe is too, but i have been using this setup for 5+ years and no problem.

if i upgrade to the 3850 agp card will the 450minimum psu affect me in any way along with my koolance?

total wattage isn't important, the wattage on 12V rail(s) is...
Older PSUs tend to have rather weak 12 volt rails compared to modern PSUs of similar total wattages. Instead they have stronger 3,3V and 5V rails that aren't really that important anymore...

Anyhoo 3850 uses some 60W of power, and all of that comes from 12V rail
