Need to buy new motherboard to replace dead GA-G33M-DS2R. Are RAID 0 drives that previously worked on this motherboard compatable with a new motherboard that also supports RAID? I would like to "plug & play" with my existing OS/data with these (2) drives. Thanks for reading.

Hey llguy,
You'll need to buy that exact board, build another set of two drives for raid zero exactly the way the other drives are setup, then replace that set with your current drives. Then PRAY it works. It should... In the future, buy an add in RAID card, run either RAID 1 or 5, never use 0, you're never really going to get the performance you might hope to get, and it's easier to repair!

The GA-G33-DS2R uses Intel's ICH9R southbridge; I'm pretty sure that any GA board (and there's a lot of them) that uses either the 9R or 10R will 'see' your RAID - might want to ask Janus Yeh (BD factory support) over at Tweaktown:

to confirm...

Good luck,
