Hi, first-time poster here.
I've never built a PC before (my experience is limited to changing a video card.) I'd like to get a new gaming/all-purpose computer (my current system is over 6 years old) and all my research thus far points to a homebuilt rig as the best value.
Basically, I'd like a machine that will enable me to run current games (Oblivion, Medieval II, Crysis) and upgrade components as needed over the next several years rather than having to build a whole new system from scratch when this one becomes obsolete.
I've put together a parts list at Newegg and would greatly appreciate any advice, criticism or feedback. I'm especially worried about compatibility and stability issues. My budget is $1000 (preferably less, if possible.)
