hi guys building a system right now...

problem is.. will this video card be compatible with this motherboard?? will it be able to fit on the motherboard??
will it be able to make use of the ati hybrid graphics feature of the mother board?? ("ati hybrid graphics" explaind at the motherboard link... check the video)

here is the motherboard

ECS A780GM-A Motherboard
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3672390

here is the videocard
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS Video Card
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3581358

if they are not compatible.. can you recommend a video card.. with the same specs which also will be able to use the "hybrid graphics feature of the motherboard...

here are the other parts i plan to build my system with:

AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 5000+

500GB hard drive

and 2048 DDR2 sdram...(wondrin if ddr2 ram will work if you use a gddr3 video card... im still startin to learn how to build a pc properly...)

help a newbie out..please... il be waiting for your replies... so watch out.. i might just reply just right after you post a reply to me... i got so many questions..

yeah that gpu will work on that Mobo, just disable the on board gpu, and the ddr2 will not confilct with the memory on the GPU so ddr2 will be just fine as its the only ram u can use on that board

Just looked at the board, and for ECS looks really nice, go with the ATI 4850 u will have no problems there!!!

If you really want that mobo, check it out here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135075&Tpk=ECS+A780GM-A ...Newegg usually has better deals on computer parts than Tigerdirect does...and usually shipping is cheaper too...*and do not buy anything from Tigerdirect that involves a mail in rebate*

As for the gpu, the 4850 will work wonders...but I don't think it'll work with the hybrid graphics feature...i think that only works for 3450s...
