Virus Problems?

Not any of my computers, but our main computer. Well apparently some time this weekend (I was gone) anti viruses on it went crazy. Now it'll load BIOS but then just a black screen (Though there is a video feed since the monitor doesn't go into stand buy). I ran a diagnostic on the boot menu which I figure is a SMART test and it passed. Anybody know what is going on?

  1. can you boot of a CD?

have you checked the HDD? all it takes is a bad sector or bad file.
  2. Download a Live Linux .iso (no install needed as it runs the OS off the CD live) and make a CD/DVD for free. Boot onto CD.

Copy all your needed files off of each drive, then reform and reinstall Windows

SCAN THE OLD FILES BEFORE YOU ADD THEM TO YOUR NEW WINDOWS INSTALLS or you might get the virus again!!!
  3. Oh, here is a list of LIVE Linux CDs (and explains what they are just incase you don't know still)
