Hello first time i've started a thread so sorry if its in the wrong place.
I want to buy a new Graphics card but wasn't sure which one to buy. Ive been waiting for the 4870x2 to come out. But the reviewers recon the card shouldn't be used anything lower than 22" and after reading that i think it will be a bit too much overkill for my useage.
I do only use my comp for games usually FPS and Driving games and the odd RTS but i only use a 19" monitor (1440x900), not really thought about getting a monitor as i'm very happy with my Viewsonic vg1921wm.
So what do you's think? i got about a week to make my mind up.
Thanks for reading
Craig

I'd go for the 4850, it can be had for around $160 dollars and will last you quite a while. If you are on a tight budget (I'm guessing you are not), the 8800GT is an excellent choice. If you want to overdo it a little bit, then go for the 4870 which will last you for a very long time on that monitor.
Thanks IndigoMoss for the reply
Do you think i'll have any problems with the 4870 and my mobo? just thinking of the PCIEx16 bus and this card is PCIE 2.0.
Also would i loose a lot of speed from the card (If it works) cause of it only being x16?
I'm in the U.K and recently seen a 280gtx for £270inc vat and delivery (think thats about $513 USD) which i thought was a pretty good price at the moment. Or would this be far too much overkill aswell for my needs?
I'm neither an ATi or Nvidia fan i have used both companys in the past.
