guys, i have posted my proposed new rig a few times, and i received some
great advice and feedback from members on this board. I finalized my list last night
and ordered it this morning. all things according to plan, this should arrive one week from
now.
Motherboard; Asus P5E Deluxe x48 ( was planning on Gigabyte, but this was so damn cheap)
CPU; Intel core 2 quad q9450 ( probably run this up to around 3ghz)
Video Card; HIS 4870 ( i was gonna buy two and crossfire them, but I think i will wait and see what the deal is with the x2)
Memory; OCZ ddr2 8500 (1066) 2Gx2
HDD; Samsung 500gig SATA
PSU; Zalman ZM850-HP
Cooler; Zalman CNPS9700LED
DVD; Pioneer 16x SATA
Case; Antec 900 gaming case
Monitors; (currently running two Dell E207WFP 20" Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor, will likely upgrade to a 24 inch reasonably soon)
Windows; vista home premium 64bit
thanks to everyone who helped out with the build, i think it is far more rounded than my previous posts.
nice setup brother congratulation
i wish i could update this year to Q9450 and HD 4870 x2
i think i will stay with my
X2 5600+ and HD 3870 for another year
how do you like your 5600 and 3870? i have a 5600 and a 9600gt. i can get crysis on all high and 1024x768 with 4x aa at 35 fps.
yes its still working great with me
i can max crysis with even more AA and it is still very playable same with Grid and Call of Duty
i didn't get it any lag on any game yet except "supreme commander" on a big map with full of units
that's because i play them on the same res you do

X2 5600+, GIGABYTE GA-MA69G-S3H,
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB),HIS HD 3870 Turbo
,Seagate Barracuda 320, 500W,
im pretty excited, it has been ages since i upgraded anything so to drop 2000aud on a system is a pretty big deal. does anyone know anything about this motherboard, i know asus are pretty reliable. I usually run gigabyte and was seriously thinking about one of their x48 boards but at 100 dollars cheaper for the asus, i couldnt justify the gigabyte
