Had some issues recently and reset my bios. I was on bios F6 before, but noticed it was up to F13 when I went to flash it again. Used the @bios utility. AFTER flashing, I noticed on Giga's website it recommends loading optimized defaults before flashing. I did NOT do this.
Here's the issue: It only recognizes 1.5GB of my 3GB of ram installed, and it's running in single channel. I have 2X1GB and 2X500MB sticks. Even with the 2 500MB sticks removed, it still reads 1.5GB memory both in bios and thru the task manager.
Also having some issues with my newer sata HDD. When I try to copy a file from that drive, whether to another HDD or to another logical drive on the same HDD, it gives me a message like I disconnected the drive.
I have a bad feeling my mobo is half gone. Any thoughts?

It's probably just a typo on the site as what it should recommend is loading optimized defaults *after* flashing the updated BIOS. Clear the CMOS, load optimized defaults, and see what happens.
