Recently acquired a Compaq Presario SR1650NX Desktop. Want to replace crashed HD with a Seagate SATA 1TB HD. The OEM Motherboard for the Compaq is an Asus A8AE-LE that recognizes the drive spec accurately; 1000G, ATA II. My Windows XP installation however, and without a third party SATA/Raid driver, reports the drive in error at 131 Gbytes. I've search all manner of sources for an ATA Driver without success. Compaq (HP) does not offer a driver. Asus shows no listing, and a web search only offers a million and one apps for scanning your computer for current and upgrades for new drivers. I'm not looking for upgrades, or whether drivers unrelated to my immediate problem are old or new. I am interested only in locating a SATA driver that will allow Windows XP to recognize the new Seagate 1TB drive and partition and format same. Thanks in advance for any information that might lead to finding this SATA driver. Best, Dennis
