Q6600 & motherboard Combo

I've looked through all the post regarding this CPU and motherboard but they seem a little old. I'd like to buy a Q6600 and use the best motherboard possible for it. This rig will be mainly for Flight Simulator X which i'm told is a CPU intensive game. I'm not wanting to experiment much but would like to overclock the system to 3.2-3.6. What is the best motherboard that is tried and tested by you guys - the users? Would I be better to go with DDR2 or DDR3 from a cost point of view?

I have the Gigabyte EP45-DS3R and it is rock solid. It overclocks my Q6600 quite easily, I am running stable at 3.2, never tried to push it any higher.
I would avoid DDR3 because there is little benefit to DDR2 CAS 4 modules.

which manufacture of memory do you use? I'm trying to keep my build as simple as possible. You know, I want to build it, install the OS and then not fiddle too much. how much did you put your system all together for. I'm thinking maybe a 8800GT/GTS GPU for it.
