hello, i have been having a problem the last couple weeks with my pc rebooting. it goes to a blue screen, but it restarts so fast i cant friggin read what it says!! it seems to do it alot when im sleeping, especially when avg comes on to do its am scan. but it has happened to me while playing a game, playing poker, or talking on messenger. i have tried a memtest on both, and individual sticks, with no errors. im not even close to overheating, and i have checked to make sure everything is secured. when i looked up the "LoadPerf" error i came across one person saying that the raptor he was using as "c" drive was the problem, but im going to wait for a response from here before i go ditching my drive. i have pasted some of the errors from my events log. my specs are:

windows xp pro x64 sp2 (server 2003)
E8400 c2d 3.0 ghz
penryn 1600sli-110dlb mobo
CB Tracers 2x2gig ddr2-800
BFG 7900gt oc 512mb
WD Raptor 150g (c-drive)
WD cavier 400g (d-drive)

well, i dont know if this helps or not, but if someone could just point me in the right direction, it would be great! thanks for the help!!

You can set you computer to HALT on an error instead of restarting (I forget how offhand...silly work PC won't let me open anything to check either).

If you BSOD while away from the PC, i'd guess bad RAM. Run memtest86 and post results.

Right click on my computer> properites.

Advance Tab >Startup and Recovery

Unchecking auto restart should stop it from rebooting on a blue screen.

Right click "My Computer"
Go to "Advanced" tab
Click "Startup and Recovery"

Many useful options are in there including "Automatically restart(on System Failure)".

See if there is a SMART option in your BIOS for the hard drive, make sure it's on, that will sometimes throw up errors if the drive is failing. Also, many manufactures (dell I know of for sure) have diagnostic partitions or CDs that have utilities to test many components of the computer, including the HD.

Uhhmm

You forgot to list the two most important components in your system (nice gear BTW!!):
■ Powersupply (build quality - 12V rail specifications = system stability)
■ Case (cooling potential = system stability)

Sounds like a problem with cooling or powersupply stability... But have you checked that you have the latest BIOS for that motherboard (whatever model it is - that is not clear)? Also have you checked that RAM doesn't need a voltage bump to run at stock or anything like that... I am not too familar with Intel's 45nm range, I have to admit!! :hello:

Can you run these programs for an extended period (like overnight for the first two)??
■ Gold Memory Tester (use bootable CD version)
http://www.goldmemory.cz/
■ CPU burn (one process per E8400 core plz)
http://users.bigpond.net.au/cpuburn/
■ 3D Mark 2006
http://www.futuremark.com/download/

These are the basic tests stability tests I run on any system I build (or test) before messing about with OC, etc.
