Help Trying to install Windows XP Prof on Dell Inspiron 6000

I can get the windows xp disc to boot up but their is a point where it stops where i is wanting a Compact Disc labeled Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 CD. I have no idea how to download this from my computer put it on disc and get it to run on the laptop I am installing XP Prof

Your CD has a later version of XP on it - possibly Service Pack 2 or even 3 and the system expects to see the one it started out with. That shouldn't be happening on a fresh installation so please post back with more details as to exactly when this happens. Are attempting a repair install? If so, it won't work unless you have that original disk - the one with Dell printed on a purple label.
