No folks he never does stop with his crazy cooling projects.
This one cost me a little more than i would have liked but it does liike and perform badass!
What this project consists of:
ASUS Rampage Extreme motherboard
Thermalright northbridge cooler
Thermalright southbridge cooler
Two Thermalright MOSFET coolers
Thermalright memory cooler.
Onto the pictures...
^the MOSFET coolers.
Its awsome!
^ The ram cooler, you guys wouldnt believe how huge this thing is!!!
^compared to the stock g.skill cooler.
^the nude ram. That was REALLY hard to get off!
^all fixed up with the new coolers.

Not as original as some of the others i have doen but still cool none the less. What do you guys think?

I think that's pretty cool. =D
I've heard of southbridge/northbridge heatsinks, but I don't even know if there really is any use for them...
Though the Foxconn Bloodrage comes with some kickass stock heatsinks.
Let us know what kind of performance you get. =D
pretty sweet, looks like you are having fun (wishing i had spare money)
| anamaniac wrote : I think that's pretty cool. =D

sorry...dont have any great results from the stock heatsinks, because the only time i used the stock heatsinks was with my dry ice run, and when you do dry ice the whole board getts a tom cooler than stock.
But i can tell you that the new heatsinks are pretty good considering ATM i only have one fan on my NB and no fans anywhere else.
Im getting a temp of
36 for my NB and 37 For my SB.
My mosfets are a little hotter than i would have liked at a temp of 30c.

Got any individual pics with the memory cooler attached to the memory?
Not installed in the M/B?

Yep...
side view

How exactly is the heatsink attached to the memory module?
LOL... suprisingly its just kinda wedged in there.
It is wedged real tight though.

^Are there any thermal tape/pads on the RAM ICs? (Also what are the ICs? D9s? )

sweet.... when are you going to push the board?
I think I've had enough of you already...
I'm broke, dont influence me to spend any more... rent is coming...
OvrClkr wrote : sweet.... when are you going to push the board?
As soon as i get my northbridge ln2 pot from vince
, then ill do a dice run trying to get a high clockspeed as well as getting a record FSB speed.
I should get it this week. So this week i also hope to take a trip down to airgas (the place where i buy ln2) and buy a shiny new cryogenic hose and phase separater.
Those should be here a week or so later, then were really gunna drop the temp

The voice in you head is telling you to buy a LN2 pot isnt it?

First thing that comes to mind is that you seriously need a life.
Second is learn how to resize pics. Photobucket has this great feature when you upload which allows you to select the size the picture will be displayed in.
they are fine for me......
no complaints here......
Pics are less than 480x600. Perfectly fine.
all i can say is awesome sinks man.... I want to see some benches and temps.....
PsychoSaysDie wrote : First thing that comes to mind is that you seriously need a life.
First of all, who are you to judge
computer forums are the geekiest of them all
doesn't mean we're all teens, or seniors
some of us can be married
PsychoSaysDie wrote : First thing that comes to mind is that you seriously need a life.
First thing that comes to find is consentrate on the post not that i need a life.
Second thing is try refreshing your browser... the pics are resized to like 400x600 by the forums...

OvrClkr wrote : all i can say is awesome sinks man.... I want to see some benches and temps.....
Ill post some temps in a few minutes...
Let me install the fans. What should i use to stress it? Prime? doesnt seem like it will stress the NB..

Here are the idle temps with the fans installed... im quite impressed. Its about 8c over the ambient.

Jeez, just when I think you couldn't be any more my hero, you go and do crazy stuff like this!!

Thanks...
Just wait til i pull out the ln2 in a couple weeks.

Look at what you made me do.....

HW bot ranks my E2180 at #53.

Now I just HAVE TO GET an DIce pot and a better board and a E8xxx.

What do you do with all your left over cooling stuff, keep it on different boards, store it in a box, sell it, just wondering.
PsychoSaysDie wrote : First thing that comes to mind is that you seriously need a life.
I LIKE big pictures....that way i can SEE MORE. it is auto re sized anyway, then i click for a bigger one.
I did not see it was you at first overshocked. Then it all made sense(over kill sense
)

Dude... you dont want an e8xx. It becomes addictive because the records are so hard to get to.
If the chip was introduced as a high end chip it is almost impossible to get ranked. If it was introducced as a midranged like the e2180 it is much easier to get in the top.

What do i do with what?

LOL... you can always tell its me because i always put "******PICS INCLUDED*****" in the title.

Ill be dropping another $500 on new pots soon.
Im going to get a custom memory pot, a new NB pot and a new cpu pot.
^ New NB pot...

hehe, soon you will have more money in copper than the actual PC itself.....
when is you next bench?
here is my build GA-EX58-UD5 with liquid cooled. i don't know why i can't oc to 20x181=3620 it is not stable after boot loge on to window and got BSOD.;
overshocked wrote : What do i do with what?
well i've just seen a lot of your awesome cooling threads and projects and i was just wondering what you did with left over heatsinks, radiators, homemade stuff, old pots etc.
that is so cool...
| overshocked wrote : Ill be dropping another $500 on new pots soon.

I just wondering are you working with some company doing this or is it your private money you are spending?
if it is your private money your spending doing this kind of crazy stuff then let me know your address i'll come wid my poor fellow friend.........

Add some voltages, it should be stable then.

tkgclimb wrote : well i've just seen a lot of your awesome cooling threads and projects and i was just wondering what you did with left over heatsinks, radiators, homemade stuff, old pots etc.
I always will use them again... my other pots were more for dice and didnt scale so well with ln2 so im getting some new pots.

True that. Now let me see if I can get my hands on a E6500K...... ![]()

Unlocked Multi FTW!

so i've got a real quick question with these records and cpuz validation. pretty much all that needs to go down is that your operating system boots and opens cpuz right? it doesn't necessarily have to be 100% stable?
overshocked wrote : No folks he never does stop with his crazy cooling projects.
any temps yet?
uncfan_2563 wrote : so i've got a real quick question with these records and cpuz validation. pretty much all that needs to go down is that your operating system boots and opens cpuz right? it doesn't necessarily have to be 100% stable?
As long as you can save a validation file you're good. No need for it to be 100% stable.

okay, good (overclocks AMD k6-2 =D )
