heya everyone thanks for taking the time to stop by and read. i appologize if these q's have been asked already.

i'm looking to piece together a new system but i'm a bit confused on which CPU AMD or Intel and duo core or quad core and SLi or Crossfire. nor do i know which mobo to get. i'm thinking i don't want sli or crossfire but it might be nice to be able to upgrade to that later.

i don't want to spend more then 1300-1500 and from reading here i've figured out most of the other componets(cept mobo and cpu). seem like i have around 600 to spend on a cpu and mother board. it mostly for gaming and some porn watching.
also i'm clueless on overclocking so at this time i don't plan to overclock.

many thanks, EoS

So since you're not going to overclock, a quad core would probably be better. In that budget you can afford a Q9450, and a motherboard based on the video cards you're using. Which video cards did you decide on?

the radeon/ATI HD4870 or Nvidia 8800gt are the 2 i like but leaning more towards the HD4870

Hmmm....ATI?
Well.. Choose a Xfire mobo!
ASUS P5EX38 or X48, or
Gigabyte X38DS4 or X48DS4
is good
