Newegg's is to basic and no amperage results.
Extreme has long been the favorite, but you have to pay for amperage results.
JourneySystems is so outdated it shouldn't have been included.
AAnet's wall draw has been within 3% of my little Killawatt meter on every system I've tested it on.

yeah, paying 10$ for lifetime access isn't bad, but all you get is amperage info, heck I can guesstimate, and I've been right every time.

So what need for amperage calculamator?

you said that instead of trusting the calculators, we should ask someone on this forum so I am asking what size power supply you think I will need to power my build without planning for any expansion at all. What is the bare minimum psu i will need to run all of these? I have everything except for the card running off a 400w SilverStone PSU. Going to add the card this week, and need to know if i need to upgrade the psu.

Phenom ii x2 555 Black 3.2GHz (never will over clock)
Regular Asus Mobo (M4A88TD)
2x2GB DDR3 1333 A-Data RAM
500GB Sata 3GB/sec 7200RPM (I believe it is a Samsung Spinpoint)
DVD-RW/CD-RW
Sapphire Vapor-X HD 5770 1GB
2 case fans
stock cpu fan

im runnin:

Core i7 2600k
ASUS P867 PRO
GTX 580
16 GB 1600MHz RAM
1TB 7200 HDD
2x 200mm fans
1x 140mm fan
1x CPU Fan
DVD Combo drive

all on a 750W PSU

is that good?

thanks in advance

No you don't need to upgrade your PSU. Is the short answer.
The longer answer is that your two major power consuming components, aren't that power hungry; the CPU has a TDP of 80W and the GPU has a TDP of 110W. These components would have to be stressed 100% percent to draw that much, which hardly ever happens. But even if they did you'd still be using less than 50% of your unit's rated capacity.

+1

Thanks a lot!....i was getting concerned. I am a n00b at builds, thanks again

None.

I come up with my own estimates based on reviews from various sites which includes power consumption measurements of the components; specifically the CPU and GPU. I use sites like Xbitslabs and Anandtech.

I distrust site like OuterVision because in the past they used TDP instead of actual power measurements to come up with bogus power consumption figures. It's nice to see that OuterVision has corrected, the way they calculate power consumption now, but I am used to doing my own research.
