Hello,
I am running out of disc space on my laptop. I noticed that the MS antispyware has an errors.log file that is using 2Gb of storage. What is this file? Can I delete this w/out causing problems? I have Windows XP; 30Gb storage.

Yep. Right-click and shut down Microsoft Antispyware and delete the stuff, not the folder just the content.

 

Run this from time to time and clean your PC.
