I doubt it.

Playing Crysis Demo (with the system in my sig). My X2-4800 was averaging ~80% utilization (both cores) at 1680x1050. Looking at the latest Tom's Hardware - Best Graphics Card for the money article, my 8800GTS-640 is one bin higher than the HD3850-512.
