SSD - The Performance Upgrade of the Future
Mobo: Asus P5E (x38) RAM: G Skill DDR2 1066Mhz CPU: Q9300 I am currently OC'ing my q9300 to 3.0ghz (400fsb) I am now looking to OC it past 3ghz but when i change my fsb to anything above 400 my ram settings cahnge. I plan to OC my cpu to 3.5GHz (467fsb) At that setting the closest the D ram can get to its intended 1066MHz is 1122MHz or 934MHz. Will my ram be able to run at 1122MHz? I would like to know as much as possible before i start adjusting values.
It depends on how lucky you are, just run it at 934, not a huge difference between 1122mhz to 934 if you put the timings accordingly
Thnx! Oh, and the timings at 1066MHz is 5-5-5-15 (standard)... so if i run the same timings at 934 will it work?
Should. I never overclock RAM. I always run 1:1. The only real world results of OC'ing RAM I have seen is a little less stability.
i couldnt keep my q9300 cool enough when overclocking past 3.4, but it hit 3.4 on just 1.18vcore
