So what are the best CPU/GPU OCs you guys have gotten? Post them here for the world to see.

Recommendations/Rules:

1. You MUST have CPUZ valid link. Even for GPU OC. This is the only rule.

2. Tell us what cooler/set up you used (ie. S1283; water cooling (list specs); D Ice,etc)

3. Pics of your set up/rig

4. If you are HWBot Ranked post link.

Hi, look in the Sig...it tells all.....The intel pc was on custom water cooling kit, the amd was on thermaltake big typhoon. You need to click to see the cpu-z validation.

Nice! What was the VID for the Intel?

Well the best I have gotten/most proud of was my old p4 northwood 2.4. The best I was able to do was a 3dmark2k1 @ 306fsb but ran it for a few years @ 295 folding 24/7 and like my i7 was my DVR & multimedia machine. I don't have a validated cpu-z or even a screen shot of any of my old benchmarks but did find a couple various shots.
It was a 2.4c, Abit ic7Max3, 2x256mb OCZ 4200 (neither of my 4400 or 4000 2x512 kits would work much over 250fsb stable even at 5/4)
water cooled with MCP600 pump and a DD RBX, Maze4, and NB block.
Here are some I found of 295fsb
http://webpages.charter.net/chew_toy/295.jpg

http://webpages.charter.net/chew_toy/cpuz.gif

A Sandra mem test at 303fsb (mem@242) mem 5/4 (doesn't show fsb just the mem speed)
http://webpages.charter.net/chew_toy/sanmam303.gif
And here is one at 300fsb with mem at 240 and both do show.
http://webpages.charter.net/chew_toy/sandra54ub.gif
A pic of the system.

Note: I was using a REALLY cheap board. Most of the OCing was done by the way of BSEL MOD, Vmod, etc.

Dude, you'd rank in 4th at HWBot for your CPU. A few Mhz more and you could be #3.

Yeah, you searched the list for the 720 (non-BE) a chip almost no one bought, heh, as it was so close to the 720BE in price. I only bought the 710 because I was eager to own something new that day, and they had no 720s, BE or not. The 710 is stiffer competition, but I made an account and submitted my newest result anyway.

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=672339

Cranked it back down to 3.1 now, will probably get a CCF within a couple weeks and push it some more then. I may even check to see if the shops in my area are sitting on any non-BE 720s, lol. I need to build a box for my dad in the next couple months anyway. A lot less competition for those chips, hah.

Around 60 C under load. For once, I hit voltage limits before I hit thermal limits. That would seem to imply that better cooling wouldn't help.

Hi, the vid on my q9550 is about 1.125v, a lot of people say thats common with that processor.. lol :(

No go. Mod didn't help. The CPU can't taek any thing above 3.8Ghz. Even at 2v :ouch:

Anyone having any difficulty with the recent release of CPUID and the online validation tool? Can't seem to get it to submit my newest OC.

With a few days off, and not yet having the budget for a CPU cooler, I decided to try tweak a bit more out of 710 x3 on stock air, and managed to pry another 50mhz out it from my last personal record.

3510.1mhz on stock air at 1.425v. Prime95 stable for 45mins, peak temp at 57c. My goal was to see how high I could clock the CPU without breaking 55c on prime95 blend, so that will definitely be as high as I will be going until the new HSF.

Will try to get my validation working and post the link.

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=700128

Edited to include verification link! This one is a bit higher, as I didn't even attempt to prime95 test it, just to get the validation, heh.

Nice. I think you could possibly hit 4Ghz assuming your temps are good and willing to pump more voltage.

My personal best so far was 3.8ghz with a Q6600.

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=679275

This allowed me to crack 16k, using an 8800GTS 512 overclocked as seen in the pic. That GPU OC was the highest i could go before getting artifacts while benching, and certain games crashed, so it wasn't stable.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a280/Werak/3DMark0616055.jpg

This was all using a Sunbeam Tuniq Tower w/AS5, in my Antec P182. I don't have a fresh pic of the innards, but it's more or less the same now. Only differences is i have a Corsair HX850 and an XFX 780i mobo now. My GPU also has a ghetto fan mod :)

VID is 1.2375, so yeah it's been good. I never did get it 100% stable at 3.6ghz though, bugs me. Oh well, 3.2ghz is plenty fast, and now my case is actually somewhat quiet, lol. Gods-dammit, i've been bitten from the silent bug :pt1cable:

Well, yesterday, I moved the AC window unit into the same room that my computer is in. My ambients temps have dropped by about 10c, so went to work on heating the room back up.

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=707312

Prime95 default blend stable for 2hours, temps never broke 55c (16c ambient) but this was with the AC unit on max, on a day when it didn't even need to be on really. Dammit, I really need to just get off my ass and get an HSF.

I had posted a new thread about an alternative to CCF (too tight for it) but no one has bitten yet, perhaps yall have an opinion on this:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] w=0&nojs=0

I am a true newb when it comes to large HSF (have done quite a few swaps on stock units, or installation of new CPU+HSF, thus my questions about the weight of it. Thanks guys, I hope I haven't done anything wrong by linking that thread here, but I didn't want to bump it (reeks of desperation lol).
