I need advice. I just went to Costco and picked up the new Samsung 2443BWX. It happens to be a 24" with 20,000:1 Contrast Ratio. It was a steal for $350.00. Anyway, I'm still running a 7800gtx and looking to upgrade and wanted to know what cards I can game with on this monitor. I'm looking for a single GPU for mostly rpg games, no SLI set up here. Let me know if you got any suggestions thanks

What do you mean by "RPG games?" (aside from using a redundant term, that is) Are we talking MMOs like WoW (seem to be a large number of WoW people coming on here for help the past few days) or more-demanding ones like Oblivion?

Spending all that money on a 4870 might be overkill if you're not playing particularly high-end games. At the very least, you could save a good chunk and go with the less-powerful 4850, which is still extremely potent; that would be good for a wide variety of games at that resolution, like Mass Effect and Neverwinter Nights 2.

Naw, I stopped playing WOW like 4 years ago. More like Age of Conan, Hellgate London, and pretty soon Warhammer online when it comes out. But to answer your question these really aren't high end games, I just want to hit at least 60-80 fps on 1900x1200 resolution. Right now I'm getting about 22-25 fps with my 24" in AOC high settings. With my 17" I use to get 30-60.

Well, I suppose Age of Conan would fit into that more "high-end" category, to be honest, so that game might merit enough reason to perhaps bump it up to a 4870. Just note that in most games, the 4870 posts results around 25% faster than the 4850, while it tends to cost around 50% more.

i would get the 4870x2 because im assuming u have one pcie slot and cant add another card. might as well get the 4870x2 which would last u a long time. If its not in ur price range get the 4870 which is also a very good card for its price.
