Hi.

I've been using the same router since I got my laptop without it being secured by any type of key. Recently the connection has been going on and off throughout it's use; I thought this could be because it it unsecured (hence lots of people using my network).

I have a wireless router (Belkin54g for laptop) and a Motorola Internet box.

Modem box - Motorola SB4200 SURFboard Cable Modem and the wireless router are connected together if this helps. The main PC (desktop) never has any problems when the laptop does or at any other time.

How can I set-up a key now? Do I have to set up th network on my laptop again?

Would be much appreciated if you could leave step-by-step instructions because I'm not too good with networking.

Thanks very much.

Download the users manual for your Belkin router.

http://www.belkin.com/support/

It will give you step by step instructions on securing your wireless.
