ATI 5 Silencer (rev.2) with shapphire x850

Hello
my brother inlaw just gave me this graphics card
i can't get hold of him and im at a lost #
so i have a ATI 5 Silencer (rev.2) with shapphire x850
and when i plug it in my monter wont work but as soon as i remove it again it is fine
is there any settings i have to change first or is it not compatibal with my computer

windows vista 32 bit
intel pentium dual cpu e2140

What are your full system specs?
Did you plug your new GPU into the PSU?
Did you hook the monitor up to the new card or leave it hooked up to onboard graphics?

What is your mobo ? Some On-board graphics need to be disconnected in the bios first.

A a good old GMA 945. Games will feel like chocolate with that X850 compared to your GMA that feel like being poked in the eyes with ice cream cones.

Plug the X850, Plug the monitor to the onboard turn on the machine.
Go to the bios , on "Advanced Peripherals" or "Onboard Peripherals" (i dont have a Intel board to check atm) and disable the Onboard graphics.

The X850 should kick in after you save and Exit. Happy gaming !!!

A 945 chipset should have no problems with your x850.
Make sure to plug a 6 pin PCIe power connector into the x850.

Ensure your VGA/DVI cable is pluged into the x850, not the motherboard.
You will probably need to disable the onboard graphics in your BIOS.

Just had to buy a dvi converter thing
