I have the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L with Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148076) is specifically the ones I bought.

It worked fine for about a month, then I started getting BSODs... windows XP got to where it wouldn't boot, so I reinstalled, same thing happened 5 days later, installed vista and still got a BSOD. Even though the memory passed 9 full days of memtest86 and 5 days of prime95, I still have stability problems and the system BSODs...

I thought it could be the ram, so I found some other ram: OCZ SLI-Ready 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227198) and tried it, but it's even worse and won't boot with the ram in the first DIMM slot, it'll boot with the ram in the second slot but it won't boot with 2 sticks of the ram in 1&3 or 2&4.

I've already updated the BIOS to version F9a dated 07/29/2008 and that didn't really seem to fix anything. My question is, is there something incompatible specifically about either of these kinds of ram with my motherboard? Why would I still be getting BSODs despite passing 9 days of memtest86 and ~6 days of prime95? Should I RMA the motherboard or upgrade to a different one?

You should have included the other components in your description. Power supply included..

It may be because of under volting. Is the ram running at the specified voltage ? and speed ? If the psu isn't up to snuff something is going to suffer. I have the same board with 4gig of crucial ballistix pc6400. No problems. I also run 8gig of pc6400 with no problems. Try selecting to run at optimum system settings in bios, see what happens.

Perhaps the board is bad...... that's always possible. Could be something else.

Make sure all connections are set firmly........ sata cables/ide cables/video card seated right/20 or 24 pin power cable seated deeply in slots/.....ram....etc.

the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L is a terrible motherboard have one aswell, it wont take 90% of the ram out , you will nothing is wrong with anything just doesnt like your ram buy a new mobo, I did no more problems

^Wrong! It's a great board, and many people have/are using it for OCing, including me.

@OP:
1. The Crucial Ballistix are known to have compatibility with P35-DS3x boards.

2. Make sure you have the RAM voltage set to 2.1v for the Ballistix.

3. You have a no name cr@ppy PSU. Even if it's not the cause, I highly recommend you replace it. It's just a matter of time till it blows up.

4. How did you update BIOS? Through Windows?

5. Tried clearing CMOS, and re-entering the RAM voltage?

6.
