Format old computer

Hello I have an old computer that my dad had gotten a virus on and has made it so I can't access most of the windows features and what not. I was just wondering if there was some way I could easily format the hard drive. It was running XP before. Any help would be nice.

have you tried to run Malwarebytes.

Go into Save Mode with Network, download, install, and update it.
Then do a Full Scan.
