I am considering buying a Zire 31 rather than spending alot of money on a
Philips Pronto.

Before i do so can anyone advise me on the effective distance of the 31's ir
beam and if it is suitable for the purpose i was hoping to buy it for?

Thanks

I should have made it clear that i wish to use the Zire 31 as a multi remote
at home using Omniremote or similar software. Will the ir beam on the Zire
provide me with a strong enough output for this use, probably around 10ft?
