Hello everyone,

I've been scrounging different sections of the forums trying to get my build together, and I thought I had everything lined up until I read some more reviews recently. For my build I was going to go with the Cooler Master COSMOS 1000, but read on Newegg that several people had overheating issues. I personally thought that with such a great case (it has tons of room) and the fans that were set up that cooling wouldn't be an issue, but apparently I was wrong. I definitely dont want anything overheating in my build causing loss of hardware and money.

These are the items I want to fit into a case:

ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
VisionTek 900244 Radeon HD 4870 512MB
CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready
mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model
ASUS Black SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model

I dont plan to do any Overclocking for now. What I'm looking for is a very spacious case that has a great air-cooling system in it. I'm not a fan of watercooling when I start thinking of all the things that could go wrong.

So yeah, something thats very spacious (it is my first build after all) and that has great air cooling with lots of fans, and wont cost a fortune.

Can you guys recommend anything?

Thanks in advance for reading and helping me out!

i have a stacker 830 its great, all the room in the world

antec 900 would be an ideal choice because it does cool quite well for a midtower, but 2 video cards would easily bring the temps up in there... its a midtower as well, and i dont think it has a slide out motherboard tray if thats the kinda thing your into

Antec 900 is a fine case. In term of cooling, as far as midtowers go, it's among the best, if not the best. It use the same mesh front and large 120mm fans. The case is full steel, and weights a ton though (pro for some, con for others).

Between it and the Cooler Master full tower I linked earlier, the Cooler Master one is probably the better buy, since they cost around the same while one is full tower, the other is midtower.

810. The 830 looks fancy, but the airflow just isn't as good. 810 use front mesh for front to back tunneling formula that is tested and proven. Antec 900 use the same setup, just on a smaller scale. Plus the 830 cost more.

So then the 810 would be a solid choice for a first build and making sure that the temperature inside the case stays low, correct?

Have you got any kind of budget for the case? Personally for a first build if size doesnt matter get a big one. More space generally means easier to work with. Depends what you like style wise but Lian-Li make some great cases (although a little more expensive) i have a PC-A70 and couldnt be happier
