I recently purchased a thermaltake armor +mx case but noticed the 23cm fan is quite loud compared to my other fans. In order to fix this I began looking at fan controllers (I have to get a 5.25 drivebay controller because the case only has 1 3.5 bays and Im already using that). The only problem with this is the 23cm fan has a special 2 pin molex which has an adapter that converts it to the standard molex connector. So my question is : does anyone know if there is an adapter for the 2 pin molex to a 3 pin fan connector so I can attach it to my fan controller because I don't want 3+ adapters for a single fan. BTW i was looking at this fan controller : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... .

(noticed in another thread that there are 12v to 7v molex adapter that would slow it down but I can't find one on newegg)

Thanks in advanced

You don't need the molex adapter. Do it yourself, it's easy:

1. connect the fans red (+) wire with the yellow (12V) wire on the psu.
2. connect the fans black (ground) wire with the red (5V) wire on the psu.
3. you have a 7V connector now.

12V - 5V = 7V

Thanks for your reply. That's funny cause I actually did this last week when i saw this 7v mod (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=372297).

Note: for people that have this fan to only use 5v just plug the connector in flipped (so the clips wont clip)...the 5v makes it almost to weak cause it will stop occasionally so 7v would be optimal.
