how are you, I bought ATI graphics card called
MSI ATI 3870HD DDR4. I read the reviews on the net and known that card which I bought it's bad by compare with 8800GT
I want to ask you, is that card which I bought is better than 8800GT
or not , and I want you to advice me is better for me change these card to
(XFX 8800GT DDR3 512MB or Palit 8800GT DDR3 1GB)
If I must change it I can change only to XFX or Palit
thanks for your efforts.

Sorry for my English, because it's not good

Welcome to the forums!

The 8800GT 512MB is slightly faster than the HD3870 512MB.

Welcome to the forums!

To answer your questions, no the 3870 will not be as fast as a 8800GT.
If you can change it out for a 8800GT, do it.
You will see no difference between the 512Mb and 1Gb cards, get which ever is cheaper.
Another card to look out for would be the 4850.
If it is available to you at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend it.

At it's release, the HD3870 was around 15% slower than the 8800 GT.

However, there has been a lot of driver improvements for the 3870, and if you are using it in Vista (DirectX 10), the performance is even closer, sometimes even better.

Get the latest drivers, it will not be worth it to exchange for an 8800GT unless you already have one.

thanks for your reply
are you recommend me, are XFX and Palit it's good in performance

Look at the warranty, the cooler and if one is factory overclocked on XFX and Palit.
The cards should be equivalent otherwise.

The brand name (XFX, Palit, EVGA, BFG, etc.) has nothing to do with performance. The only difference between the cards is that they have a different fan and sticker on the card.

Go with whichever has the better price.

8800gt is a lot faster than 3870, regardless of the ddr4. Overall, the 8800gt is faster than 3870 by a lot more than just 15%.

The 1gb ram makes a difference only on higher resolutions. If the two versions cost around the same, get the 1gb version, if the 1gb version cost significantly more, get the 512mb version.

Get the 1gb version then. No reason to pay more for less.

Agreed, go with the Palit 8800GT DDR3 1GB, the cheapest one out of the three and will perform better than the 3870 and slightly better than the 8800GT 512 one.

Then again, what's the price of the 4850 in your area? In America it's in the $175 area, so maybe you might have similar prices.

Get q6600 instead. Same price, more futureproofing.

if you have already got the 3870 then dont bother changing! i can play oblivion cod4 and other recent games maxed out easily @1680/1050.

make sure you know what res your playing at because there is nowhere near the difference quoted at lower res's. ive seen plenty of reliable reviews where the difference is 1 or 2 frames per second which really is nothing in real terms.
