I am way out of the loop on the technology, but I will tell you what I currently have.

Intell C2D E6600
ASUS P5B Deluxe
4GB Kingston HyperX (I don't remember the speed)
eVGA 8800GTX 768 DDR3 Video
Full Sata (Sata 2 Hard Drive & Sata Dual Layer DVD Drive)
22" Widescreen @ 1680x1250
650 Watt Power Supply

What I have been thinking about....

eVGA 790i Mobo
Intel Q9300 (2.53Ghz/1333Mhz/6mb Cache)
Memory ?? (Curious on what would be the proper speed OCX perhaps)
Video Card - GTX 2XX family. Perhaps SLI...
Hard Drive??
Onboard Sound or Addon??
Power Supply ???
Cooling ???
I like Cooler Master cases...

Thanks in advance for the advice...

If your thinking about spending 2000 dollars you should wait until Q4 and get a nehalem ive been seeing rumors that a 2.66 nehalem will cost like 284 dollars so you should wait.

Never heard of the Nehalem. What about the rest of the rig though?

I am really lost on the memory. There are crap loads of speed options. The 790i Mobo uses DDR3. Suggestions on that?

What size power supply is standard these days? Is cooler master a good brand to buy from?
