Hello everyone,

I just wanted to compare hard drive temperatures, so please post your hard drive's model, basic info, and average (or max min) temperatures.

Mine are:

WD Black 1 TB: 40-42 C
WD Greem 750 GB: 33-36 C

Thank you,

My WD Green 1TB drive runs at about 38 or 39C while the Black 1TB runs at about 43 or 44C. There seems to be about a 5C difference between them in my Antec P182 case.

But in a metal external enclosure with no fans there is a bigger difference. I haven't measured those temperatures but I'd guess perhaps 10C difference.

I don't have a green. My 1TB black runs around 30C though (which is about 2C warmer than my Seagate 2TB Barracuda XT).

That's pretty cold @ 30C. Are you using additional cooling or what?

Not intentionally, but because of my case setup, the hard drive is directly behind an intake fan.
