whats wrong with this "god like" build?

It looks fine, though I wouldn't call it godlike. The CPU is a bit weak for that video card, but not bad, especially if you get a good heat sink and overclock it.

Second the need to get a faster cpu, either by OCing that one, or pick up an 8400.

Spend another $25 to pick up the WD 640. More than double the storage, and it is faster than the last gen Raptor drive.

Upgrade that hard drive, get a WD6400AAKS.
Get 4 Gigs of ram or more, or the 64 bit OS choice it's quite useless.
Get an aftermarket cooler and OC that CPU or it'll bottleneck the 4870.

Other than that it's quite a good build.

Lol - I expected "godlike" to include some more serious specs.

That's a decent build, but you've only got 2GB of RAM (despite the fact that 4GB is so cheap now).

The CPU is supposed to be a beast of an overclocker, but I would consider a better one if you can afford it.

P43 motherboard vs P45?

+1 - drop Home basic.

The HDD would better server you if you had single platter 320GB or get the WD 640 GB HDD (2 platters for $80)

Lots of good suggestions here.
I'll add this, if you do keep that CPU(and even if you don't), drop the DDR2 1066 ram for some DDR2 800 and get 4GBs of it. Even if you overclock the crap out of that processor you will not ever need that faster ram.

Unfortunately, it's far from god-like. I didn't see anything that was right with this build.

First of all, the system is weak for running a 64-Bit OS.

Only a dual-core processor, should be at least a quad core running at 2.4Ghz or better.

Second, 4GB Ram at a minimum.

Plus, at least get a 1TB drive, they're pretty inexpensive now.

Is this machine intended to be a gaming machine???

I would have to agree and probably call this lame bastard tripod if it was a dog.I must admit I expected to see some liquid cooled business and maybe a couple of crossfired 4870x2s.

All of U's is wrong. A god like system would be nothing like an Intel, AMD, Apple, Linux, OR Unix system.

Everyone knows that a god like system would never need to be upgraded, OC'd or hacked from porn sites. :kaola:

Isn't godlike.

You should get a better CPU and more RAM. 4GB.
HDD 250gb is kinda short, but i think you can add it later on.

Well, not godlike. Maybe average ? But ok. More ram pl0x.

Wow you guys are harsh. I guess you guys have a problem with a budget gaming system. If he spent $100 more on the CPU and $100 less on the GPU his gaming performance would be worse not better, so I think he has his money in the right place.

Drop the 1066 and get 4GB.
P43 is fine if you are not going to crossfire, based on your CPU I would say crossfire is not in your future.
Grab the WD 320 or 640 instead of the 250. Denser platters = more performance.

64-bit OS with 2gb of ram?

I think RAM and HDD need a boost.

Get a SATA dvd drive not IDE. (and if you need dvd or burning software get retail instead of OEM)

Get Vista home premium instead of basic.

Good choice in video card and if you OC the processor I think you'll be fine, but you might want a decent after market HSF.

Not sure whether or not that's a solid PSU.

Harsh...lol. When someone claims something is "godlike," it ought to be something that is nearly perfect. If there are so many improvements, then it may not be so "godlike."

I bet it wouldn't get so much criticism if it had said something like - budget build, not "godlike"

Like this thing?
It's only $80k with 128GB of RAM, 8 quad cores at 3.0GHz, and 4 Nvidia Quadro FX 5600s...

(I think I want one :D )

All right here is what you need to do. Drop the 1066 and get 4GB (2x2GB) of G.skill 800mhz RAM. Keep that E5200, that thing is a monster overclocker. Get the E5200 up to 3.0 atleast and don't worry about bottlenecking the 4870, which I would not really recommend. Drop the 4870 and get the 9800 GX2, that will squeeze some FPS out of the system. Get a Hitachi 500GB HDD for the same price, the performance difference with the WD640 is minimal at best. Switch out that coolermaster case and PSU for the Antec Sonota III with the 500w power supply, the coolermaster power supply is NOT a good power supply. Finally switch to home premium if you can afford it. If you have anymore questions or concerns feel free to PM me.
