Does the Kyocera 6035 use a standard Palm interface -- or is it
proprietary?

I'm wondering if I could use a standard (III, V or Universal i/f) Palm
Portable keyboard with it.

I've looked all over to find the answer for this and haven't had much
luck.

I'm currently using a KeyLink keyboard with my 6035. It connects using
the cradle's 9-pin serial connector. I think I could use my Palm
keyboard if there was some method of adapting the connectors between
"standard" Palm (not the "universal" one see note 1. below) and the
6035.
The short answer is, yes, the 6035 uses the same signals cor
interconnectivity as a PalmIII series machine, but the physical
connector is not the same.

Note 1. Palm used the word "universal" to describe their second
generation connection to their pda units. They chose poorly as the
connector is not "universal" to anything but _some_ Palm devices.
The connector does not even support their own pre-existing external
products... a very NOT universal thing.

Thanks. I've seen the "Kyocera" Stowaways and see that the 6035 needs a
cable to connect to them. I'm curious if the keyboard they are
connecting to has a standard Palm "connector" and whether that cable is
available separately.

Probably not and probably not.

Thanks for the response, BTW.
