I will hook it up to my Sony Bravia 40' 1080i HDTV via HDMI, and also set it up through my network, so I can connect it to my PS3. Gaming is no worries since I do my gaming on my PS3. Will use this to mostly back up Movies and Music and such and use it through my network.
I do have one question, what Case to use with this set up?
Any help would be appreciated so Thanks in advance.
I have the same TV hooked up through component, with a Gigabyte mobo (same one).
here are my issues: (CPU is a 5400 AM2) First, let me say the picture is GREAT! I run Vista Ultimate and the audio drivers give me headaches. SPDIF is problematic, even with VLC and other codecs installed. I can get stereo, but not 5.1. (also in XP). I would suggest maybe a Xfi soundcard.
-- Other then that, it decodes blueray (on drive) @ 1080 just fine.
CASE: I used the QPAK which was fine. I added a doubleslot cooler as well, and replaced the 92mm fan with a controllable one, and it was mostly silent. \ I would rather have a really awesome case in the future... since this PC will last me, my next PC will be a nice case with a built in touchscreen, and more aesthetically pleasing. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811280007

Also would like to add that I'm going to use a Slipstreamed version of Windows XP 32 bit-SP3, and Ubuntu Linux (Even Faster Booting). That case that you linked is nice and sleek, but for the price I cant afford it right now maybe in the future .
the advantages over the one you chose:
- about 2'' more height.so you can fit in additional cards without any worries
- luks like a stereo equip rather than a cpu
- extra 30 watts psu
- it has 2 5.25'' bays in front. so may be if u decide to spend 80 bucks later on you can add a VFD Imon and make it a real HTPC
