Researching for my upcoming build. I intend to build a moderate, robust gaming platform that will handle video editing and graphics. CPU I want to use is Q9650.
I have been considering the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P and the Asus Maximus II Formula. The Gigabyte mb is recent. I have read some reviews of the Asus maximus 2 being a good stable board, working with auto defaults and stable with vista 64 bit. Not sure what memory Asus likes. Gigabyte seems to need many tweaks to get it stable (as the new ep45-ud3p has recently been released, not much known if it too needs extensive tweaking)

Any opinions, feedback would be appreciated.

Both boards are good at OCing. The Gigabyte boards tend to need a few RAM voltage/timing adjustments to get 100% stable. Also "Auto" settings on both boards tend to over volt, etc and usually will crash on Prime95 in ~2hrs or so at best.
