Have an emachine that will only boot to the bios screen. From here it will then go to a DOS screen that states "Turn off power and reinstall the jumper in Normal mode position." Is this a jumper on the board that needs to be adjusted. I can't find anything on the board unusual. The only seemingly Identifying piece on the board is it does say that its an Intel board but can't find anything that looks like a model number.
Emachine W360
Intel Celeron D 356
Vista Basic
512 Memory DDR2
129gb SATA drive
the jumper it is describing would be nearby a nickel sized battery, or have clear cmos written nearby it on the board.
you fiddle with it recently? If it just happened at random, that same battery may be dead causing the issue. you'll have to replace it, then go into the bios, set defaults, and check to make sure your hard drive detected - then it may get right back into booting normally
