Xp boot problem

Hello,
My hard drive keeps failing to boot up due i believe to boot record issues. I always have a cloned copy of my hard drive and am able to use this without fault. I am using the cloned drive with the other 'C' drive as a slave. I can access all files that i need but i would like to copy the working boot file to the failed 'C' (slave) drive. How do i do it please?

Try setting the bad drive back to your primary drive then boot to a WinXP install disk. Select the Recovery Option. At the Command prompt type in the Command, fixmbr' without the quotes.
