Ok so basically I'm trying to run Crysis with as minimal lag as possible on 1280x800 and all High Graphics with no AA. I've been messing around with the settings of both Crysis and my Catalyst Control Center's Overdrive so I can play this game with out much lag, but no matter what I do I cannot seem to get great gameplay even though I've seen people playing Crysis much more smoothly on the same or even better settings than mine with the same GPU. My current computer Specs are...

- ASRock Mobo with 2 PCI express x16 2.0 slots
- 700W power Supply
- AMD Phenom X4 Agena 9600 2.35Ghz
- CROSSFIRE Sapphire ATI HD4850 512MB and XFX ATI HD4850 512MB
- 8.00 GB of Corsair DDR2 800Mhz
- 1TB Western Digital 7200RPM harddrive

Any help would be awsome! maybe theres specific CCC settings for Overdrive I should change too or if I'm over looking something. As far as I can see though I shouldn't have as much lag as I do for Crysis. Oh and yes Crossfire is enabled.

If you could test your computer with 3DMark06, that would be great and would help me see what's wrong with your setup...After you test it post up all the scores; overall 3dmarks, SM2.0, HDR/SM3.0, CPU...that would help...Thanx

^+1 I'm goin' to go out on a limb and say your CPU is limiting your performance in Crysis.

LOL! I wasn't paying attention...didn't notice it was a 9600...
Well of course it's the CPU! Big time!

Its the CPU. I have a C2D E7400 and a 4850HD and I play crysis on all max settings WITH AA and a trainer set to 4x the normal speed so I can run faster, and I can zoom all over the map seamlessly with no jerking or lagging. So, the GPU can handle it, the CPU is limiting.

One more time "It's the cpu!!!"

Here's some benchmarks for 2 x HD4850 (PII X4 940 @ 3.5GHz, gpu stock clocks):
3DMark06 score 18,494
SM2.0 7,230
SM3.0 8.769
CPU 5,186
PCMark05 9,433

same cpu but with 1 x HD4850:
3DMark06 score 13,208
SM2.0 4,893
SM3.0 5,715
CPU 5,169 (about the same)
PCMark05 9,518 (always goes up a little with one card)

From your system:
I'd swap 4GB of your 8GB for more cpu.
I'd swap 1 x HD4850 for more cpu.

Still, some benchmarks from the current set up you have would put things in perspective.
