I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this but I'm having trouble whether to buy the BFG 8800GT OC or the BFG 8800 GTS OC. The BFG 8800 GT OC is on sale for $130 and the GTS is 8800GTS at $170. Would 8800GT OC be ok to play games like crysis, gears of war, cod 4, halo, and FEAR?

I'm new here sorry >_<

Dude seriously don't be harsh.

Anyways, there isnt much of a difference. Also on Newegg for 110$ there is an 8800GT PNY and it works great :)

If you have 170 bucks, then ATI's 4850 is definitely in your price range. You can also go for 9800GTX+ if you wish to stick with Nvidia.

Depends on your budget and where you're buying from. The 8800GTS 512 is faster than the OC 8800GT, the HD4850 is a bit faster than the 8800GTS 512. Right now on newegg there's a 8800GTS512 rebadged as a 9800GT for $125 after rebate.

or a HD4850 for $140 after rebate

and yes the 8800GT will play all those games depending on your resolution and settings.
