For people who want to unlock cores on their phenom II X3's or their phenom II X2's (commonly the X3 720 and the X2 550). Here's a great guide I found for unlocking cores!

The issue with these crapzor processors is their crap cache. 512kb l2 cache, no l3 cache..

Phenom X2 II 550 BE comes with 6 mbs of l3 cache, and 512kb l2 per core...
Not to mention unlocking to quad core if your lucky. Even at the $40 price... the 550 is a better buy...

Of course if your on a tight budget, then yeah go for it :D

Tor those on a budget the Semperon 140 2.7GHz True Single Core unlocks to into an Athlon II X2 440 and can be overlocked into the 3.5 to 3.7GHz range.

Available for under usd40.00 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103698

You can't beat the 550's performance @ the same price, especially if you're going Intel against AMD.
