So I have the x1950, its a good graphics card. I don't play games at all now. I just watch HD films and SD films. I have the PC connected up to my 1080p 32" panasonic tv, the tx32lzd85. The problem I having is that the blacks are grey when im watching films. I know its not the tv as when I watch films at an aspect ratio of say 2.35:1 the black bars are deep blacks. But the film is grey. I have tried chaning the gamma in CCC, if I decrease the gamma the black are deep, but there is no shadow detail. If I increase the shadow detail by increasing the gamma, the blacks turn white/grey. When I watch normal tv, via the built in tuner I don't have this problem. I have the tv connected up via DVI-HDMI. I am wondering if I could get a better graphics card like the 3450 or the 3650, which will improve the shadow detail and the general image quality.

Thanks.

movie playback is pretty much the same....but 3xxx series does take load off ur CPU.....if u get 3650, ull see dramatic improvement while playing blue-ray and HD contents.......but i think even 3450 is enough for u since u dont game.

and i think the problem ur having now is related to driver......reinstall driver and set everything to default......also reset contrast option in ur monitor.....

I have a e6850 and the asus p5k, so I also need it to improve the image quality, ie the shadow details. I will try reinstalling the drivers.
