Can't create or replace folder to cd-denied access

I have always saved my e-mails to separate folders by month in "My Documents" on my Windows XP HP. Now suddenly I get an error copying file or folder "cannot create or replace (folder name). Access is denied.
The disks cannot all be full, I don't know how they could suddenly be write-protected and the file is not in use.

Try this:

Open My computer. Select the drive with the windows installation. Right click on it, Properties - Tools and check the volume for errors "Automatically fix file system errors".

Now in your problem details you don't mention the "folder to CD" part. What gives?
