I swear to god, my cpu goes up to 79C @ 3.66ghz.. voltages at 1.23v, if mine went to 4.2 It would melt my entire computer, I have the thermalrigth true black with push/pull fan setup, and arctic mx2 thermal compound which i have carefully applied.
Am using the thermalright Ultra120 eXtreme-1366 RT (push/pull) running currently at 3.8ghz (at 1.25v) with temp at idle 39c (between 37c to 41c on all cores).
Here is what my lapped TRUE does with two 2000rpm fans push pull with 20° ambient, the low idle I would guess is from keeping all power saving features enabled (idle vcore 1.136 and cpu speed of 2290 compared to 1.36 and 4009 at load).
I will get the Prolimatech Megahelms I hope to achieve 4,2GHz easily.
You're funny, 4.2GHZ easily? Maybe very very hot, but not easily. You probably have to lap the CPU, prolimatech mentioned not to lap their heatsink beacuse of performance issues. 4.2 wont be easy with the temps. Noob overclocker? Unless you get a really good sample of the chip 4.2 , most likely wont reach that speed for 24/7 use.
and funny how frostytech didnt do a review on the megahalems yet. shame
overshocks, why don't you buy a Meg and send it to them as a free sample? They get them free, if they don't have a relationships yet with them, whay don't ya as a good citizen work your contacts with the CEO of Meg and Frosty and fix that?
