I just had a system built with the MSI K9A2 Platinum I learned that i have an old bios version... I just wanted to know, what are the advantages of upgrading to the new bios version and what are the disadvantages to not? Also I tried using the online autoupgrade but it said i needed to insert a floppy to create a rescue disk but my computer doesn't have a floppy drive. Do I really need a rescue disk? Do problems take place on a normal basis when installing a new bios? please help me!

I've used msi's live update windows flash program with no problems, but I don't recommend any bios flash unless it's absolutely necessary. I've had about 4 dead motherboards from bios flashes in 16 years of building. Why are you flashing the bios? If you're overclocking, no one can predict the changes after flashing. If your system is stable, I would leave the bios program alone.
