ok, so does anyone actually know when the i7's and the accompanying x58 mobo's are ACTUALLY coming out?

Some reports have been saying that they are due out in the first week of october, but other say they've delayed it till Q1 2009 as there's no competition from AMD at the moment.

Does anyone know when they are actually coming out and any idea on pricing? Intel's website is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard.

Core i7 will come out in the October ~ November timeframe. Production ready X58 boards have already been sent to system builders (Falcon NW for instance) for review.

My mate alsways used to use the glass hammer metaphor, till he became a car mechanic and started using a glass hammer. Slightly off topic but it still makes me chuckle to this day!
