Hi, im building my first gaming rig (The Tower Only) and ive known of this site and how helpfull it is and i need your guys help.

Over the summer ive been getting parts selling stuff on ebay :).

Here's my list of items i currently have already bought for my gaming rig:

BFG NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI MOBO
http://bfgtech.com/bfgrinf680is.aspx

BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT OC 512MB PCIe 2.0

Raidmax Aurora rx580 580 Watt

I/O Magic SuperMulti IDVD20DLSS 8x Dual/Double Layer 20x DVD Burner with LightScribe
http://www.techforless.com/cgi-bin/tech4less/IDVD20DLSS?mv_pc=yahoo_plp

That's What i have right now for my system and i need your guys help for the rest.

I might only have $400 left for everything else or $380 maybe more. ll need more i know i will. Ill find out aftermy laptop ends on ebay.

Im really turned on getting a quad core because so my system will be good for a little while.
I think a quad core is really worth it but i want your guys opinion on that also.

As for memory ill probably get 2gigs hopefully 6400 ones

For a harddrive ive done well with hatachi but i hear well about wd ones what do you thinks best? what size?

I thought of getting either a antec 300 or a COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-WW
I do like the clear side on the other one because i bought a 120mm blue led fan but i heard the 300 is really good on fan cooling.
What case do you guys think i should get it dosent have to be between thoughs two.

As for a operating system i wanted to know if i could use a dell reinstallation cd windows 32bit on it with a code.
Or use my hp recovery disc that has windows 32 bit on it. Also but i heard there attached to there mobo they originated with so ya i didnt know so im asking you guys. i would like 64bit Vista Home Premium for the more ram it can detect.
That will cost more though.

Im wanting to know what to get on that also to?

I know ill probably have to get more money for the rest of them but i just want your guys opinion on it.

What category would this system be under low or mid or high end for as a gaming system goes?

Im die'in to put this thing togeather when i get everything to play Call Of Duty 4, Crysis, World Of Warcraft, Battle field 2142 Etc. on my Hp 22" HDMI Full 1080p HD 1680 x 1050 screen resolution and Logitech G15 Keyboard on gaming mouse. :) (ill have to get a hdmi adapter though or just use vga)

Thank You For Opinions And Support! :D :sol:

If I had to speculate, I'd say Intel & nvidia weren't in good terms so Intel decided to make the new cpus incompatible with 680i/650i. Don't quote me on that.

Yes, in fact, 780i would be the only worthy option for SLI. 790i does only DDR3 which will push the cost up.
