Ok so I built my first PC containing of these parts:

-Antec Solo Black/Silver Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
-ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
-eVGA Nvidia 8800GS
-CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 Power Supply
-Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
-G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK
-Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500AAKS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
-SAMSUNG 22X DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223F

I won't lie, it's pretty freakin' sweet.

But this is my first time building a computer and so tweaking it to max performance is something I want to learn.

First off, the RAM runs at 800mhz. I believe this is pretty standard, it requires some altering of the BIOS to make it run at 1066mhz. I have no idea on how to do this. Any info would be great (detailed as possible).

Second, when my computer starts it has the messages

Marvell 88SE6xx Adapter - BIOS ******

Adapter 1:
Disk Information
No Hard Disk Detected.

What do I need to do to fix this if it is a problem.

Thanks for your help!

anyone?

here's a picture of what comes up after the bios screen

I wonder if it's because maybe I have IDE turned on, but nothing is plugged in IDE?

The Marvell 88SE6111 error message does refer to the IDE/PATA devices (HDD/Floppy/DVD/CD)
Did you choose any IDE boot devices during BIOS setup?

For BIOS RAM settings look on page 3-17 para 3.4.4 for the info you want.

No I didn't choose any IDE boot devices during BIOS setup

I read someone say about his that was having the same problem was "My hard drive is SATA but I think it's configured as IDE in the BIOS or something."
