I have been given all the internals from a sony kp-61s65 projection tv
except for the CRTs. This means I have the full video
convergence/tuner/audio/power boards and front-panel pcb with the IR
detector and AV inputs, large front-reflective mirror, and the final
projection 60" projection lens as well as the lens assembly from 2 of the
the CRTs. Given this mass of hardware I could either take it apart to use
the individual components(a really nice microcontroller among them) or try
to build something using the original board setup. Anyone have feelings
whether it would be worth trying to drive some sort of display using this
hardware in its present state?
