Hi i have a Q6600 running at 3.2Ghz and 2GB of ram on a asus P5B motherbored at the moment i have a 8800GTS 512MB. but have recently got a 42" hdtv to run games on and want to upgrade the GPU.(can use
I can get 2 4850 for 220 or one gtx 280 for 250
just wondering which one would give me better preformace overall ?
They bothe seem very close in benchmarks. im leaning for the dule gpu atm.
Also I'd say it depends on what else you want to do with the cards as well (HD playback, etc?).
Pfft, or yeah, what Maziar said....

But in your case it is a large enough barrier to be concerned IMO, especially since the the two options are so close.

Cheers i might splash out on a dfi x48 mobo off my m8 to eliminate this problem :-) and with this ill get 4850's as i watch a lot of HD content and uvd v2 look superioor to nvidias offerings
4850s are starting to get limited with AA and AF at 1080[ and above - Crossfire won't change this. Consider a 4870X2, but beware microstutter - it still exists and on a screen this big, you WILL notice it.
