Hi,

I'm getting out of range readings in my BIOS ( Abit NF7-S ) in the -5v range.
Some one told me not to worry because -5v is rarely used any more and the fact that there's no load on it is probably producing the out or range reading.

Is this correct? And also, I'd be interested in any other comments you might have.
The board is performing with no problems other than the warnings from the Hardware Doctor.

Thank you!

Can't you configure Hardware Doctor to ignore it?

Yes. I can tell Hardware Doctor to ignore it, but I'm really needing to know if I should worry about it being out of range in the first place, and if the advice I got from that other person is accurate.

Thanks,

Steve

It was accurate advice. -5 V is optional and your PSU probably doesn't even provide it. Therefore the value reported by Hardware Doctor is bogus and can be safely ignored.
