Cheaper ddr2 or more expensive ddr3?

I want to get 2 sticks of 1gb ram, but Im not sure if I should get ddr2 or 3
I am on a budget which im already way over, but its not like im paying.
I will be using vista 32bit home premium, and playing games like cod4 and tf2

ddr2 is a better value right now. Also, you'd have to go even more over budget to buy a ddr3 motherboard.

Not much performance increase in DDR3 anyway; at least not until a good chipset and CPU can take advantage of it.
